About Kentucky ASCD

The Kentucky Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development is a diverse community of educators assuring quality professional growth opportunities that stimulate, challenge, and maximize the best within all of us.

Vision for 2005
  • Programs will focus on closing the achievement gap.
  • KY ASCD's Journal will feature articles related to best instructional practices for teachers.
  • Networking with other professional education organizations will provide opportunitites to influence educational policies and offer state-of-the-art professional development.
  • Expansion of the KY ASCD web site will provide additional resources for teachers.
  • Regional representatives on the Board of Directors will become affiliate leaders in their respective geographical areas.
 
Goals by 2005
By the year 2005, the Kentucky ASCD will:
  • become a more diverse association in its membership, governance, and programs;
  • provide quality professional growth for all stakeholders; and
  • create a communication system connecting all stakeholders to the affiliate.
 
Belief Statements

We believe:

  • that all people have intrinsic worth;
  • that we promote positive changes that ultimately impact the lives of children;
  • diverse people and diverse ideas lead to quality actions;
  • all people deserve access to quality learning experiences;
  • the uncertainty of the future challenges us to continuously reassess our values/beliefs; and
  • a diverse community should work together for the good of our children.
